Does the world need RealMee?
We see a simple need that is not being met by any other service today, at least not in a usable way for most of we non-technical users. And that need is:
I want to be able to control the way I am seen by the rest of the world, both online and offline.
Controlling your identity offline is not that hard for most people, but online it gets a bit more difficult. Especially when others start Googling for you and/or your name. Search engine results are not necessarily an accurate description of who you are, even if it’s actually you in the first place and not someone with the same name…
Now if you start publishing your own weblog (and your name is not as famous as George Bush or as common as John Smith) you will soon see that blog appearing in search engine results for your name. This way, you at least have some control over what people see if they are looking for you. But starting and continuously updating a blog is not what most people want to do. Enter RealMee. A dead easy way of setting up a personal website that contains all the information you wish to make publicly available to anyone trying to find you.
So that’s a start, but there is a lot more to it. We would love it if you kept on reading this weblog to get a picture of all the possibilities in RealMee. And, while you’re here, we would love to hear from you as well. What do you like about our service? Where can we improve? Got suggestions for new features? Please let us know, that way we can build it together
